Look at the weight strapped across your shoulders, accumulated over the years. Ask yourself: whose voice put it there? Was it choice, or was it compliance? If it is not truly yours, then why must you carry it another step?

The people who tell you that you overreacted are often the same people who benefit from your silence. They are comfortable with your compliance, with your ability to absorb their thoughtlessness without consequence.
