A man that I dated back in 2017 has just gotten married. I didn't find out about it until the wee hours of this morning (1am-2am'ish), March 15, 2024. He got married early December last year. The last time we spoke was in November last year. I shouldn't be bothered about it, but I am. 🤷‍♀️ Him and I have a connection that is rare to find these days, and regardless of how long we go without speaking to each other, I find myself thinking about him from time-to-time. He admitted he would think about me sometimes as well. I can't expect him to wait around forever for me though. When we met, he told me his goal was to find a woman to date, settle down and eventually get married. He finally got what he wanted, so why am I so emotionally affected by this? 😕

Maybe it's just the old memories coming to to bite you in the ass. I remember when my highschool sweetheart got engaged and I heard about the wedding date, I was incredibly hurt. I thought I was over her, but obviously it was just me lying to myself. Sometimes you just find those rare people in life that absolutely make an impact in your life and it's hard to let go of them. Deep down you know if certain things were different, you two would probably be together, but due to certain circumstances you aren't. Anyways, I hope you find peace, sometimes a disturbance such as this can take some time and true reflection to process. BTW, I read your profile, skimmed it at least 😂, - the reason an atheist would probably attempt to talk to anyone of any religion: While they may not believe in your faith, they will often times respect your wishes to continue practicing that faith, and even support you in your need for a religious community. Assuming no harm is coming from your religion, then there would be no reason they wouldn't respect it. All people are different, so this is just a generalization. You may encounter some people though who want to try and convert you, and they too will encounter such people. If everyone could just respect one another a little more, this world would be such a better place. Profile advice: You have too much going on all over your profile. I'm not dating, but some of the best profiles to process are the ones that give you just enough about the person to get you interested all while giving them a persona. That might be why you only had that old dude in your DMs, you are both young and beautiful so just fixing up the profile will go a long way.

Because you were connected through a pseudo fantasy, but fantasy doesn't need you to believe it to feel inviting. Once your emotions are allowed to swim in that feeling, it's jarring when reality demands you to get out of the pool. It's a connection lost, a weak connection.
