Depression

I know this isn't the place to share this but I have to get it out. I've always tried my best to remain positive and to see the good in every situation. I'm always trying to keep smiling despite it all. Lately, however, my depression has been kicking my ass. I just can't seem to pull my mind from the abyss. I seem to constantly be filled with waves and waves of sadness and I can't seem to shake it. I hate when it gets to me like this because then I start to question who I am as a person and I just want to feel like my happy and complete self again. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Sometimes writing it out can help me feel better.

Be aware of toxic positivity and how it may affect your life and your mood. Sometimes, it's okay to feel sad. Happy times should come naturally. Just remember that there are people in your life willing to be happy with you.

Its okay to not be okay. There is nothing wrong with being honest about where you are. In fact, the best thing you can do is admit when you are struggling. It won’t necessarily “fix” things, but it allows the people who love and care about you to support you through it. So talk about it, write about it, just don’t bottle it up. It’s also important to help people understand that sometimes you need to be loved a little. They dont necessarily need to cheer you up, they just need to accept that you are where you are. Understanding that and supporting what helps you feel loved and accepted matters

For myself trying to put on the show amd appear happy for someone else/everyone else just makes it worse. I started with trying to do things that forced me to smile not that had me smiling for someone else's sake. And doing those thing at least once a week for an hour and then increasing as i found what actually made me happiest for the longest. In my case its either playing fetch with my dog or going to the range amd shooting big guns. Both things just make me smile, the energy and love displayed by my dog and sudden jolt and fireworks like bang of a large caliber going off.

Writing it out is a solid move; it's like giving that emotional parasite a good kick
