Younger guy, older woman
I've noticed there seems to be a new trend, well new to me at least. It has always been fairly common to see an older man, younger woman couple. But since I've re-entered the dating scene after being off the market for 25 years, I've been getting attention from men who are much younger than me. I'm flattered, but I'm uncertain of their intentions. So why are younger guys interested in older women? 🤔 (I'm talking anywhere from 5-15 years younger.)

My experience is that older women are more mentally stable, respectful, caring, thoughtful, accepting, and mature. Those things seem lost today. Most women I meet that are my age or younger are heavily entitled and toxic. They have extremely unrealistic expectations, treat me like dirt, communicate poorly, have double standards, want open relationships, and lie consistently. This is why I don't mind the idea of older women.

I can't speak for men in the early 20s, but for me, the "market" so to speak seems a bit screwed with a lot of women seeming to be interested in a type of man that doesn't match me. Depending on the age, the difference also means less as we grow older. I'd have no problem dating a woman 10 years older, as i find the maturity charming and the usually calm presence to be nice. I can't speak for everyone of course. But the current "hookup" culture does not appeal to me. I prefer more romantic and near relationships

Personally, It's really hard to keep dialogue going. I've talked to roughly 5~ women who were atleast 7 years older than me. I find that it's easier to connect with people that have experienced more and know more. I am someone who collects information just to know it. There are a lot of women in their 30's are highly intelligent and successful. It makes for not only an interesting conversation but they are very confident. It's just attractive to see someone who has alot of their puzzle pieces in place.

Maturity, Security and a pinch of curiosity. Alot but not all older adults have careers, experiences & vulnerabilities. Careers ( ex: financial securities. Access to activites money can buy...access to needs) , experiences ( sexual varieties, life learned residences to various life hardships ) and Vulnerabilites ( exhaustion from marital, life, or other adult hardships that come over time sometimes leads many adults feeling desperate & yearning for attention/validation that can be hard to obtain from other adults. Young people pick up on this.

Personally, for me, it seems like everyone my age around me just wants to drink 24/7 and get around. Many of them say they're always looking for tall, muscular, and/or dark haired boys. It was just the same shallow descriptions over and over again. Only thing I ever had going for me is being tall. So when I talk to girls that are older, they've always been more receiving of who I am and that I'm not just some pretty boy. (No disrespect to the guys out that match the descriptions and are still genuine people). Main point is I didn't have to try to be anything other than me when talking to girls above my age. It was nice.

Im going to be honest with you i got married to a younger guy we been together for over 16 yrs and it was the worse decision i ever made so really think about dating a younger guy is not even worth it we are not together anymore and we are filling for a divorse i rather date someone my own age

Who we are attracted too is about as individual as anything can be. Personally I wouldn't say it like "I've always been attracted to older women" but more like " I've always found women in their late 30s to early 50s to be the most attractive" so. When I was younger I liked older women, now I like women my age, and in another 20 years I'll like younger women. My circumstance changed but my preference didn't. As for why, that's been stated above, maturity, stable(usually), but more along the "have experienced enough of life to know who they are" they typically aren't trying to find themselves any more but are working towards become who they know they are. Physically, again preference, I find the things most "older" women are trying to hide attractive, crows feet, the lives around the neck area, laugh lines, graying hair(all white is attractive as hell to me). Now, I'm 46, but those have always been my preferences. Just my 2 bits.

I'm a younger guy myself but don't get me wrong, I'm not interested, but it's the matter that they are looking for more of a mother figure in their lives for stability and they can't find anyone else that hasn't been set by today's norms of women. In a mind of a guy and probably with anybody you get too much of something or anything toxic in your life there's a breaking point where you've had enough of that thing and start on looking down a different solution to that toxicity.
