Well online people are often treated like npcs, but then also tend to be the more socially inept (There is always space for more OW players if that's a platform you are on). IRL my experience is that no-one wants to take the time to get to know someone. They very accurately point out that life is fleeting and that what they really want is a connection, deep, meaningful and with the right person, but if they don't "feel it" then it's not worth trying to find. However it's that act of trying to find it with someone that forges the connection that is desired, whilst a person might vibe quickly with someone else on some issues there may be large disconnects that are later found.

Well, at the end of the day, it's their loss, not yours. You have to embrace the fact that you're unique and not everyone can handle that. I used to be like you at some point in life and then I've realized that, you know what? It is what it is, so let's make the full of it. I've realized that, nowadays, no one wants a guy which comes at the end of the day tired, but genuinely willing to find out how was her day, if she's fine or not, maybe a "hey, let's watch/play something together" or even a kiss on the forehead as a "Hey, I've missed you today".
