Does anyone else feel this way? You feel like dating apps don’t work. Every person you talk to you’re just asking and answering the same sort of questions (which makes sense don’t get me wrong) BUT every friend you’ve made it was because of school, tafe or uni. I’ve spoken to sooo many people and only 1 of them has actually became my friend. I’ve been on dating apps for 2 years and nothing. I’ve made more friends by either uni or friend of a friend. Am I alone in this or not.

I feel this. If it makes you feel better, I have been doing the rotation of The Apps for... 5 years now? Making friends as an adult is already hard, but throw in introversion too? Guuuurrrlll ~ I'm choosy with my friends though. The people I keep close understand how to be my friend, and I am so grateful for that. But otherwise, outside of them, I don't make friends. 🙃

I'd wager I should mind my own business as an extrovert.. but.. I will say I relate to the Dating app business where it feels like nothing is coming from any interaction you make. No, I dont think youre alone. But I will say that everyone's approach to dating is really nonchalant lately. Its either 100% what you want, or nothing at all. So, conversations always feel dry or forced when you don't automatically click like we're all told should happen with the right person.

Humm I think if the goal is to find friends then you gotta really stick to your guns and not really use "dating apps" unless your referring to boo cause this was technically marketed as a friends app to my knowledge (or at least the reason I joined) Sometimes you gotta be the proactive one to shake up the convo if you feel it's stale but generally if you find like minded souls then it shud be an easy back and forth convo as you talk shop with your hobbies. If suggest tweek what your looking for as some may want to use this for dating some for friends or there can be the ones who use it for both. If you change up your profile to what you want and do some digging it can be like a needle in a haystack but it's so worth it when you can find the peeps you vibe with as friends imo (edited)

For the most part, they feel very slow and not particularly useful. On the very rare occasion I have made friends but it's rarer still that they stick around in any meaningful way. However! I did meet someone on Bumble who I was then in an almost 2 year relationship with, and we've remained good friends since then. I also do have a couple people I call genuine friends from these apps, one even from this one. So while it's mostly just something to pass the time and not something to expect too much from, once in a blue moon you could find something great

Pretty much as everyone says. Humans crave socialization, problem is, that is hard to simulate on dating apps. Friends are made when you are younger; as time passes making friends becomes more difficult (cause adulting). Online SEEMS like it would be good, but unlike RL relationships, it takes a good deal more effort and thought. It is harder to goof off on someone's couch when half a world away, after all.
