How do you define marriage??? 🤔 When you consciously decide to keep and take care of someone despite their flaws and their insecurities. By providing good foundational support for a relationship that stands the test of time because it's a good one that's supportive of the other. Being unshaken and unashamed of yourself and your human counterpart and the commitment and fidelity happens without prompting. Devotion. Total devotion to your spouse. (edited)

It’s when people decide to involve the law in their relationship. They get certain shared benefits, but it’s also a very serious and potentially lifelong commitment. A divorce is a lot harder to go through with than a breakup, and marriage isn’t for everyone, but the general public often expects it from us regardless. A couple that decides to get married is likely a pair that’s sure they want to commit to spending the rest of their lives together, and if they can maintain a healthy relationship with each other, it’ll be more beneficial for them, but if they eventually fail to hold the relationship together, it’ll turn out much worse for them. This is why choosing to get married is a very big decision.

Marriage is a ceremony you participant in in in the eyes of everyone who is important to you (hopefully god is between them) and to the person who you chose to have forever as one of the walls of your soul and heart, because hard times will come when all you two will have is those swears to keep you together while you upset and wanting to throw everything of the window. In this ceremony you both swear to have a thousand fights instead of breaking up, to try and develop the sides that made them fall in love with you in the first place. Marriage is an everyday swear, that you will stay with them forever even if you both do not have more love in your heart to give because love is a feeling and feelings are temporary, because feeling are easy to fade. Marriage is NOT "I will take care of you and you take care of me", because marriage IS "I will take care of me for you and you take care of you for me." Marriage is to make a whole human being a part of you, no less than your memories or inner child. In the bible, god is commanding you to act like you two are the only people on the planet, like he is your adam and she is your eve. For me, marriage is the start of life itself because we all came to this world to be everything we could be and what is a better way to get to know yourself then marriage? Everyone need someone to push them back to sanity when they get lost, everybody need a witness to their life who will fade away the feeling "I am only a one of 8 billion, and my life will go unnoticed" Marriage is the best thing humanity has, because loving someone unconditionally, is what prevents us from becoming the monsters we all have inside us. Save some taxes, wear a pretty ring and get some gifts from people who believe you love each other while you just stay together because you can annoy the hell out of each other and know you won't find a more fitting person to do it anyways. Really. The only reason my boyfriend and I will get married someday is exactly that. We could live without that but... Who does not want another reason to wear a pretty ring, get some gifts and save some money? And on top of that holding your ring up to your partner, reminding him you will annoy each other for the rest of your life and there is no escape because none of you got the money to get divorced. 🤣
