Mistake? Obi Wan should have saved Anakin. It was his one chance to keep Sidious away from him and figure things out, maybe even delay his inevitable demise by a few weeks but instead he chose to walk away, let his brother die in anger and pain, burning alive. Maybe I would have done the same, I don't know, but imagine he succeeded to bring him back to light.
