Buying others drinks...

I'm curious what you think about being bought a drink as an initial form of contact..? I find it rather creepy being offered, kinda like "ooo a pretty girl, let's get her drunk". Maybe it's how I was brought up as well, but it's also the matter of feeling like I owe you something if you buy me something... And that's a weird way to begin a conversation 🤔 Once a guy kept asking to buy me a beer and wouldnt take no for an answer so suddenly he just jammed the glass in my hands 😳 I had had enough so I just gave the beer to my huge male friend who was there as well 😂 There's ofc also the question of whether or not the drink is the only thing you're getting if a glass appears in front of you... 🙄 (edited)

I was at a job agency for an interview when I was 17. And this 40-odd-year-old wannabe gangster followed me in and kept trying to harass me and make me drink an energy drink that you could tell was tampered with. A 15 year old teen finally sat between us while his mother looked on and stared the guy down so I could get my paperwork done and they kindly looked out for me while I left. Suffice to say I never accept drinks from someone I don't know or trust. 😓 An offer of onion rings or zucchini fries though would be more attention-grabbing. 😅😂 (edited)

Def depends. Some guys clearly just wanna get a girl drunk/roofie them, but there's been some genuinely nice offers of drinks too. I'd like to lean towards "I appreciate the gesture" but not drink it (I don't drink anyway), unless they show their creep card, then I DEF won't drink and also make sure I can leave safely.
