In my experience, I've come to the realization that we mix up being enough and doing enough. To be enough concerns your character, your morals, and who you are as a person. To the people who love you, who truly matter in your life, you will always be enough. But sometimes we may need to make improvements to ourselves, not to reach some standard but to genuinely improve and be the best we can be. To do enough concerns our words, actions, goals, and ambitions. And there are plenty of times we simply don't do enough. And that's okay, because it doesn't affect our innate value as people. It's much easier to make improvements and take criticism when we don't see them as attacks on our character. Whenever you feel you aren't good enough, make the effort to ask yourself, "Am I not enough? Or am I just not doing enough? And IF I'm not doing enough, what can I do to change that?"

Some people bury the feeling. Overrule it with external stimuli, anything to keep their mind off of them. That may push the feeling to the side, but it'll still be there. You can't change your feelings, the best thing you can do is to try and change your mindset about the feeling. Try to let it be, without judgment, and ask yourself where the feeling's coming from. Why do you feel the need to listen to the feeling, telling you you're inadequate. Is there a truth to that? If not, then there's nothing you can do. So why worry about something you can't control? But if there *is* truth to it, and if there's something you can do to feel more useful in the future, you should make plans for that, and tell your feeling. Knowing that you will be on a path to self-improvement, the feeling should disappear. It may get replaced by another feeling (like shame about your current/past self not living up to your own expectations, or impatience about when you'll make progression). BTW, try not to be too hard on yourself. People make mistakes, feel inadequate all the time. The point is, you need to learn the lessons life presents you with, and over time things will get better the more experience you have. You still have quite some years ahead of you! 😉

Absolutely false
Whoever said "everything happens for a reason" clearly never had a child born with an incurable disease or talked to an innocent child who was raped by her own father, because if he had, I would love to know his theory on what good could ever possibly come from either of them?
