When I bring the topic up, I expect honesty. I can withstand a bit of sass, but if I am not at fault... I will not continually open myself up to be treated unfairly no matter how patient I can be. I can be stoic to a point, but I know I am harsh tongued. I have learned to control it better the older I have gotten, and I do apologize even when I know I'm right. That is if I know the other person is more sensitive regardless of who is right. However, I do not tolerate becoming the villain because of immaturity. When someone wants to get me riled up by speaking half truths, I know by now a half truth plus a half truth equals a lie. So, I leave it well enough alone. Cutting through awkwardness is not easy but I have come to understand some people either feed into the mood or lighten it. (edited)

If it’s a serious relationship, I’ll communicate when everyone is calm including myself. See our differences and work on it. If it’s imposible then I would ask where we can compromise. If it’s not a serious relationship and the partner is still in intro phase but doesn’t communicate, I simply flutter away within the last words 🦋
