I refuse to give up my honesty and integrity. In a world that seems to punish me for being a particular person, I continue to try and be that person because I don't know how to be, or want to be anything else. It's my honest and true self. I don't talk or behave like the typical kind of man. People don't stick around because I'm not what they envision a normal person to be. I can't seem to find love because I don't speak or act as typical people do. But even though it leaves me lonely, I can't be anything else - I refuse to be anything else. This one hits a bit close to home right now. I had a ferret who just passed away last night. He was my best friend and cuddle bug, he was different from all the other ferrets I've owned before because he always wanted to cuddle with me. He was a rescue and I got him when he was 4, which they only live for 7 years and are prone to many medical problems. I only had him for 3 years and in the past week I've spend more than I'd like to admit taking him to the vet. I've been wondering if I would have been happier never adopting him, but I know that my life would have been empty without him. I'll never regret it and I'll never regret the choices I made to try and keep him alive. A sleepy picture of us both cuddling before bedtime
