The fortress

I have finished my first novel. I translated first 10 pages to English with AI, made some corrections since It does not get the context time to time. I do not want to work with KDP, so give your your honest opinion, so I have better bargaining position. Trapped in the void within darkness for years, the poor man found hope in the emergence of meaningless, blurry shapes. Shapes collided and fought with each other as if striving for significance, eventually giving birth to a picture from the chaos of shapes he saw in the desert of his years-long solitude; an imposing fortress winked at him. The fortress was surrounded by an abyssal darkness, rising to the sky. No sun, no moon, no stars were visible, and the walls of the fortress, untouched by light, seemed to illuminate themselves: the source of light could even be said to be the walls. A two-way, tightly-packed human traffic flowed between the darkness and the fortress through hundreds of small doors on either side of the fortress. It was clear why people emerging from the darkness were drawn to the fortress; just as it was a sanctuary for him, it belonged to these people. It was incomprehensible why anyone would choose the blind solitude of darkness. It was the greatest crime committed. Next to the fortress, powerful man, unbothered by the migration of crowds, was leaning against a tree that stubbornly resisted being engulfed by darkness. A curiosity mixed with fear fell into this man’s heart in unravelling the identity of this man. Curiosity turned into impulse, impulse into motion, got a closer look to the man, saw himself. With an irresistible attraction arising from the marvel of the truth he realized, his point of view got closer to his body, until they collided with each other - for a moment, his entire existence turned dark. In the darkness, two shining metals collided, a spark the size of a pinprick arose. The spark hurt his heart, and T. woke up. He was confused, but a strange excitement filled him. He remembered his heartache, felt a bit sad, he would continue to feel this sadness as he remembered that moment. To freshen up, he caressed his heart. With curiosity, he put his hands to the tree he is leaning. He stood up with the support of tree, but it was a struggle, sighed deeply. He tried to remember something from the past, strained his mind, hoping to grasp a fragment. He tried to recall the beginning, his childhood... everything began with his dream – it was all dark. How could an adult not have a past? With the restlessness of his newfound awareness, he boldly stood in front of the main gate of the fortress, waiting for someone to perceive him as a threat, to open the door, and face him. Frustrated by the disappointment brought by disrespectful silence, he shouted as loud as he could. He did not let indifference hinder his courage, knocked on the door three times.
