I'm shutting myself off
I'm not really talking to people anymore. I'm mostly at home playing games, watching stuff or going for walks alone and listening to music, maybe walking by the river and around my city. I don't really have a friend group to go out with. I sometimes go to a meetup group from the MeetUp app but last time I went they ended up at a pub and I just ended up going home because I was just sat there and I didn't really know what to do, it was kinda anxiety inducing, I just stood by the river and stared at the water after leaving. I don't really talk to people as much online either, mostly one friends who plays a game with me and who I appreciate a lot. I say I'm lonely but I don't know if I really want friends, I don't really know how to make them. I'd like to date someday but I think my lack of social life is really hurting my chances. I grew up kinda secluded from the world, never went on holiday or anything and I feel like that impacted my ability at making connections 🥲 I work in retail and I'm fine with talking with customers and colleagues, I actually enjoy it and I feel like without that I would just be nothing. I'd say I'm a happy and smiley person, maybe it's just anxiety and lack of connections This should be given to a therapist, not on Boo 😆 thanks for reading, yeehaw!

You go for walks. Try to make it your mission to speak to a set number of random people you see during those walks. Compliment them on their outfit, remark something that's happening around you, or even ask directions to something you might already know the answer to. Anxiety may stem from fear. The fear of social interaction could be real. If it is, then the only way to break that fear, is by facing it.

I've been there, so I can relate... I went thru a horrible break up and really withdrew from society and family, and it eventually spiraled out of control after a few years. I almost lost myself, but I sought help... it wasn't easy asking for help, I felt like I failed as a human being, but thru therapy I got the help I needed and learned some skills to help guide me. I'm still on my journey, but I feel a lot better about the direction I'm heading. I have my moments still, but they a short now and don't control my life. I have small circle of friends, but the few friends I have are my true friends. I struggle making new friends, I just feel like a outsider looking in. I hope you find your peace in life. If you ever need someone to just listen, I'm a great listener. Live long and prosper🙂 (edited)

Does anyone else randomly freeze in the middle of a convo & forget how to speak/ text? Like someone says “thanks” & you know the correct reply is “you’re welcome” but instead you just stare at them like 😶 & then just disappear? How do I fix this before ppl think I’m weird or just mean?
